Your Personal Mission Statement!
I think it fair to say, most people think of “mission statements” are for business owners, but why wouldn’t you write one anyway? By spending quality time to focus on yourself and to think about what you goals of life are, coupled with your beliefs and values, can create a guide for your personal success.
In writing your own “mission/purpose” statement you will become more focused, more efficient and reach decisions faster and with ease, especially if you read it everyday. If you don’t find the time or fall out of a pattern of reading everyday, read it when conflict arises and decision-making becomes difficult. Attempt to put the conflict into alignment with your mission in life, to eliminate that feeling of anguish. If it doesn’t fit, you know the answer.
If you are a business owner, your also an entrepreneur, and the leader of your business. The chances are you already know what your mission is. In fact if you’ve had the time and opportunity to learn about starting a business, one of the first things you might have been told to do, was to write your mission statement. If so may be the title of this post should read “ Are you on a mission and do you share it with your team?” Unless you share your mission statement with the team, how else would they know where your going?…..
Look at your mission statement everyday and share with your employees!
